"I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that is may bear more fruit." ~ John 15:1-2 (NASB)
Knowing that the Father wants you to bear much fruit, what prevents you from doing so? Bearing much fruit depends on two things - your abiding in Me and My abiding in you. The fruit of the Spirit is unconditional love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. When you abide in Me and I abide in you, you will experience these qualities flowing into you and out of you to others. You abide in Me when you obey My commands. Whatever keeps you from abiding in My words and doing them keeps you from bearing much fruit. But when you spend more time in My words and act on them, the Holy Spirit will produce His fruit in abundance. Don't let laziness, pride, or self-centredness keep you from dwelling in My words and doing them.
"I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing." ~ John:15:5 (NASB)
