We have good news for you! Peace with God isn’t just possible – He wants you to experience His peace and He made that possible through Jesus. The Gospel is the good news that God is restoring our broken lives through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. God desires relationship with you. Check out the following video. We hope and pray it will speak to you.
…and so your relationship with God is primary. God loves you. He desires real relationship with you that he sent his one and only Son Jesus to die for you and to bring you to God. The Bible says, “God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, [Jesus Christ], that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16). Jesus said, “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly” — a complete life full of purpose (John 10:10).
But here's the problem: we are sinful and separated from God. We have all missed the mark of God’s goodness and perfection. We have all fallen way short of God’s holy and just character. And so the Bible says clearly: “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). The result of sin is death, and eternal spiritual separation from God (Romans 6:23).
So what is the good news? God sent His Son to die for your sins! Jesus died in our place so we could have a relationship with God and be with Him forever. Nothing says it better than the Bible itself: “God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). (“While still sinners…Jesus died for us”! That means that we don’t have to clean ourselves up before we come to God!) Jesus life didn’t end with his death. He rose again and still lives! “Christ died for our sins. … He was buried. … He was raised on the third day, according to the Scriptures” (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).
Would you like to receive God’s forgiveness?
We can’t save ourselves and we can’t earn God’s love and salvation; we are saved by God’s grace when we have faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. Period. All you have to do is admit your need of a Saviour, believe you are a sinner and that Christ died for your sins, and ask His forgiveness. Then turn from your sins—that’s called repentance. When you turn to God like this in faith and trust, His Spirit will come and assure you that you are forgiven and will begin to transform you from the inside out.
Not sure what to say to God or how to pray? Here are some words for prayer that might help. But make them your own and keep talking to God as you begin to follow Jesus.
