Gentle Shepherd Community Church – Grey County launches “30 in 30” campaign for 2018
2018 marks the 30th year of ministry for Gentle Shepherd Community Church. Rather than simply celebrating the past 30 years, the church has opted to celebrate the future and focus on those who are not part of a Christian faith community. And so we as a Church are planning 30 ways to reach out to and connect with our community in our 30th year – and so the “30 in 30”.
The name was the brain child of Ruth Johnston our Chair of our Elder’s board and it was quickly “owned” by all.
The purpose of the “30 in 30” campaign is to find creative ways to connect with, be present in, serve, and bring the good news of Jesus to the communities around us that our church serves.
Some of the ideas so far include: prayer walks, hosting dinner parties in our homes, movie nights, community BBQ’s, a special Canada Day service, intentional acts of kindness, our annual VBS Kids Camp, Mud Volleyball, a corn roast, a “Light the Night” party on Oct. 31st in Flesherton, a coffee house, a parade in the Christmas parade in Markdale, a Christmas Day feast in Flesherton, and a special “Miracle on the 8th Line” Christmas outreach in December.
As you can see, we’re pretty excited!
