"You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, "Do not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgement." But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgement." ~ Matthew 5:21-22

How merciful is the Father? He has chosen to spare you from the judgement and punishment you deserve. He has chosen to respond to your sin with mercy rather than anger. Instead of executing His judgement and punishment on you, He sent Me to the cross in your place. Knowing that He has shown so much mercy toward you, can you understand why your anger against others is so offensive to him? The spirit of anger is the spirit of murder. Though it may not seem that serious to you, it is that serious to Him. The next time anger wells up inside you, listen to the Holy Spirit. He may whisper, "You are grieving the Father. You're trampling His grace and mercy. You are acting in the spirit of murder." Stop your anger dead in its tracks by meditating on the Word. Listen to the Holy Spirit recount the Father's mercies toward you. At that momenht repent, turn around in your heart, and follow Me.

"If another believer sins against you, go privately and point out the offense. If the other person listens and confesses it, you have won that person back." ~ Matthew 18:15 (NLT)
